The families of teens missing after a devastating blaze at a bar in a Swiss alpine town are facing an painful wait for answers and pleading for information about their loved ones via social media.

The blaze engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Verified images depict the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Authorities have indicated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the victims of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and wounded another scores more. Authorities noted on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with the process still underway to identify the final individuals.

In the interim, loved ones have been using social media to request information about their loved ones who were present at the venue that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his family.

Additional Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also unaccounted for. His parent said that he had been on vacation but had gone out with friends and ended up at the bar.

"Someone with him told me they escaped after the fire started and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he they were separated," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his teachers commented, "I remember his kindness and smile, alongside great maturity. Often ask if get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek citizenship but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to media.

Her brother has shared an appeal on social media, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Officials from her country of origin say they are continuing to monitor the case.
