Barcelona Set to Play Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
