Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A plane carrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet touched down in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Pete Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to Brussels at the time.
This incident is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has encountered technical problems.
Months ago, a American military jet ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to head back to Washington after encountering a mechanical problem.
